ancient magicks
1.0 - Introduction
Ancient Magicks are members only spells that are thought to have belonged to the god Zaros a long time ago. They are very powerful and have many advantages over regular spells. In ones player owned house, if you wish to teleport to cities from the regular spellbook, please note you can create spell tablets on the appropriate type of lectern.
After completing the Desert Treasure quest, you will have the opportunity to buy the Ancient Staff from Eblis for 80,000gp. This staff is extremely powerful as it allows you to auto-cast Ancient Magicks. In order to access these new spells you will have to 'Pray-at' the altar in the pyramid where you finished the Desert Treasure quest. By doing this you will 'Gain Wisdom' and the Ancient Magicks will show up in your magic book. To go back to your other spells just 'Pray-at' the altar again so that your 'memory fades' and your regular spells will show up. Beware that when you pray at the altar your prayer points will be drained.
1.1 - Special Effects
Ancient Magick spells have a number of advantages over the regular spells. The Burst and Barrage spells have the ability to hit multiple targets. This means that when you cast one of them on a target it will also cause some damage to surrounding attackable targets.
Finally, each type of spell will perform an added effect on the target.
Smoke Spells will contaminate your target. They will be poisoned.
Shadow Spells will blind your target. Their attack will be lowered.
Blood Spells will absorb the life of your target and add about a fourth of it to your health.
Ice Spells will freeze your target. They cannot move for a few seconds. (5 seconds for rush, 10 for burst, 15 for blitz, and 20 for barrage.)

2.0 - The Spells
This table will outline the effects and requirements for every ancient magick.
Please note that you do not have to have the Ancient Staff equipped in order to cast these spells, however in order to take advantage of the 'Auto Cast' feature, you will need the staff. Here are the Ancient Magick spells you can cast.
