Tai Bwo Wannai is a quiet, members-only jungle town located south of Brimhaven, on the island of Karamja; run by the local natives. It is a popular place to craft nature runes, a central location for many key quests, and sports quite a unique mini-game. Beware: if you have a low combat level, watch out - many of the creatures in, and around this town are aggressive and even poisonous. This area is not for the faint at heart!

Special Attractions
Tai Bwo Wannai Cleanup
The town of Tai Bwo Wannai is being attacked by many jungle creatures and needs help repairing the wall that surrounds them. The Tai Bwo Wannai Cleanup is a woodcutting mini-game that takes you on many adventures in the jungle. You are required to use a machete to cut branches from the jungle and then use them to repair the wall around the town. However, there are many risks involved. You may be attacked by an evil Broodoo Victim who is bent on making you join him in the afterlife. The bushes are also full of poisonous tribesmen, gigantic spiders, and pesky mosquitoes. The reward is a new currency, the Trading Stick, which can be used to trade for new clothing and other goods. For more information, visit the Tai Bwo Wannai Cleanup.
Nature Rune Crafting
The general shop in Tai Bwo Wannai offers a unique opportunity to craft nature runes more efficiently than walking to the Shilo Village bank and without having to use the abyss. Many Runecrafters bring thousands of rune essences in note form, sell as many of them to the general shop as their inventory allows, and buy them back. This offers a method of exchange at a low price without having to walk all the way to the bank. It is still a bit of a walk from the general shop to the nature altar, however.
Mahogany & Teak Trees
Tai Bwo Wannai is currently the best place to cut Mahogany and Teak trees. These trees offer very good woodcutting and firemaking experience. To access the area you must pay 100 Trading Sticks, and you therefore must have started the Tai Bwo Wannai Cleanup mini-game.
Anvil
While there is an anvil located in Tai Bwo Wannai, it is very far from a bank. The few times it comes in handy are during quests that involve quick use of an anvil in that area, such as Legends Quest.
Dungeon
North of Tai Bwo Wannai is a Jogre-filled dungeon. It is mainly used as a location for one of the herbs in the Jungle Potion Quest. It is also decent prayer training as Jogres drop Big Bones.
Seaweed
Tai Bwo Wannai is an excellent place to gather seaweed. There are several seaweed spawn along the west coast.
Calquat tree patch
In the middle of Tai Bwo Wannai is a Calquat tree patch to plant your Calquat seeds. There is no farmer there to look after your tree so make sure you do so yourself.

Quests
Jungle Potion: Speak to Trufitus, in the most-north-eastward house (it is round).
Tai Bwo Wannai Trio: Speak to Timfraku who is located upstairs in a rectangular building on the south side of the village to begin the quest.

Miscellaneous Information
Trading Sticks
The people of Tai Bwo Wannai do not trade in gold pieces - instead they use Trading Sticks. These can be obtained by starting the Tai Bwo Wannai Cleanup mini-game or selling things to the shop run by Gabooty. A popular way to gain large amounts of sticks is to mine gems at the Shilo Village gem rocks and sell them to the store for sticks. However, simply doing the mini-game is quite fast as well. NPC's such as Jogres and tribesmen also drop trading sticks.
Can I teleport here?
No. The closest teleportation spot is the N. Karamja teleport with an Amulet of Glory. You may also take a Gnome Glider to a spot east of the village and head west if you have done the The Grand Tree quest. By foot the fastest way to get there is by boat from Ardougne.
Linguistic Accuracy
A linguistics major has noted an interesting little fact that adds realism to the game. Jagex (probably by accident) accurately displayed an example of how children acquire grammar with parents who do not speak the language well. For instance, studies have shown that if a parent speaks broken English, his or her children will speak correct English, even if broken English is all the child has been exposed to. This is due to a grammar-forming mechanism in the child's brain that corrects even bad grammar as the child acquires language. When talking to Safta Doc in Tao Bwo Wannai you will note that he speaks a broken dialect of English. However, his son, Karaday, speaks perfect English. So either Jagex has taken a few linguistics courses, noticed this pattern and applied it, or simply got lucky in adding a bit of realism to the game. You decide.
