Thieving Guide
Basics of Thieving
The thieving skill, when trained properly, can lead to great treasures and wealthiness.
To succesfully steal from NPCs, you have 3 options:Pickpocket: Steal from a NPC's pocket. If the NPC can be pickpocketed, you can right-click on it, and the pickpocket option will appear.
Stall Stealing: Ardounge center has various stalls where to steal from, these go from a bakery stall, up to a gem stall.
Pick-locking: Many doors and chests in Runescape can be picklocked to get reward, these can go from 10gp up to Blood Runes and adamantine ores.
Pickpocketing
To pickpocket a NPC, you'll have to right-click on it, and select the "pickpocket" option, if your thieving level is high enough, your character will try to pickpocket it. There's a chance you'll be caught, be stunned for a little while, and lose some hp (Depending on the character you tried to pickpocket)

Stall Stealing
Stalls can be found in East Ardounge*, and are easy to steal-from. To steal from a stall, just right click it, and select the "Steal from" option, if your thieving level is high enough, your character will try to steal from it. There's a chance a guard might see you and will start attacking you.

Pick-Locking
To picklock a door or chest simply right-click on it and press the "Picklock" or "Search for traps" options respectively. If your thieving level is high enough, your character will try to picklock,or disarm it. There is a chance you will miss to picklock the door, in that case, try again. Chests can't be missed (If you miss one, your thieving level isn't high enough)

**Ogre Coffins give one additional experience point for every couple seconds you spend trying to pick lock them. However, your thieving level will go down also ("Your hands grow numb from fumbling with the lock"). If you pick the ones that are outside the dance grounds, the Ogre Guards can knock you out and put you into the tomb with the Zogres. Ogre Coffins can also break lockpicks and release the disease.\
