There are many skills in the Runescape world. There are several of those skills that are great money makers. Herblore is a fantastic money maker if you have money to invest, but most people just starting out, do not have that kind of money. Fishing, Mining and Woodcutting are some of the best skills to make money with that does not require you have a lot of money to begin with. Of course you want to be able to get those levels up as quickly as possible to start making the money. So, I am going to tell you the best way to train and do what I call "speed training" for fishing, mining and wood cutting so you can start making some good money soon.When you first start off in fishing you will need a net to catch Shrimp with until level 5. Once you hit level 5 you will need a regular fishing pole and bait to catch sardines. Both the Shrimp and Sardines can be caught at Draynor village by the bank. Then once you hit level 20 it is time to move on to the fly fishing rod and feathers. With these you can go over to the river at Lumbridge to fish for Trout and then at level 30 you will be able to catch Salmon as well. This is where I recommend you stay until you are at level 40 when you can start catching Lobsters. Make sure and bring an axe with you. Cut down a tree that is right by you and then you can cook your backpack full of fish and drop them. Make sure that you are cooking what you catch so that you will get that cooking level up there. Once you start catching Lobsters, you will want to cook them to sale them!Now you can start making some money with Lobsters or Lobbies as many Runescapers call them. To start Lobbie fishing you will need to purchase a Lobster Pot from the fishing store for 20gp and that is all you will need. Now if you are a member, the best place to fish for Lobbies is in Catherby but if you are not a member you will have to go to Karmaja Island. If you are not a member and have to go to Karmaja, it is best if you are able to teleport or have done the Shilo Village Quest and can access that bank. Cooked Lobbies can sale for about 200gp to 250gp each! With mining one thing that you want to make sure and do is always use the best pickaxe that you can at your current level. This will speed the mining process up. When starting off on mining I recommend that you just start off mining copper or tin and drop them as you get a backpack full. Once you hit level 15 you can mine iron. The best place to mine for iron is south of Falador in my opinion because there are several rocks side by side to mine. Once again, fill you back pack, drop it all and start over. You never even have to leave your spot. Once you hit level Coal can be a great money maker due to the fact that there is always a demand for it because it is used in all high level smelting. If you get your mining high enough to get into the Mining guild, that is the best place to mine the coal. Until then, I recommend going to the Edgeville Mine as there are 6 coal rocks there. The re-spawn time on the coal rock is going to be much slower than that of the iron but when you start making money it will not matte!Woodcutting is my personal favorite money maker. Make sure and use the best axe that you can at your level with woodcutting as it makes it go much faster. Just start out on normal trees that are found all over Runescape and fill your backpack and then drop them. At level 15 you can move on over the cutting Oak trees. These are great because you get more than just one log per tree. Oak trees can be found in lots of places as well. It is best to find two or more really close together so that you can be chopping one while the other is re-spawning. At level 30 you can start cutting down the Willow trees and the best place to do this is at Draynor right by the bank. You can start making some money with these trees, so make sure and bank them and do not drop them!After you get to level 60 it is on to the more serious money maker of wood cutting. Yew logs are always in great demand so they are a great way to make money. There are several places so cut Yews; there are three north of Varrock Palace and three south of Falador there are also four north of Rimmington among other places. Now there are two ways to go about selling your items. For starters you can stand around in the banks and announce what you have for sale and how much you are asking. Please know how much you want for the items because people really get annoyed at those who always say to make an offer. The other option is to check the Runescape message boards and see who is buying or make a post of your own announcing that you are selling.
