Part 1 - Combat/MoneyNote: This guide is for lower levels; also I am assuming in this guide that you are a free world user. If you are a member with a high level of fletching, rune crafting, or smithing, some of this might not be the best way to go since you can make your items needed. Also some prices may be a little off since some items I say to sell don't have set prices.Hello there Runescapers! I have been playing Runescape for a very long time, ever since it came out basically; and have gained a lot of knowledge from it. For one, names of herbs, I learned what alchemy was, and a lot of other things, like different types of ores.So to be honest, whether you believe me or not, Runescape is a very educational game.So you're probably wondering, "Why aren't you telling me how to make it in runescape?" but don't worry, I will tell you what to do to make it in runescape in the following paragraphs. The first paragraph was just a little background knowledge to runescape if you didn't know what it was.If you're looking at this piece, either you're bored out of your mind, or you need help getting money, levels, and friends in Runescape. How to make money is a very easy thing to explain. Especially for lower levels that just want to be able to afford full iron, because I remember back in the day, when I was a noob at the game, and couldn't even afford bronze Armour. They were troubling times, and I just wish I had a guide that would help me such as this one.One way to make money is by killing chickens and picking up the feathers and selling them. Yes you heard me right; killing the easiest NPC gets you money. And it's quite simple…If you kill 100 chickens or so, you will probably have over 1000 feathers. But you are probably thinking, "But chicken feathers only sell for 1 - 3 gp each!" And you are right, but that is in free worlds. If you go to the forums, even though you can't log in if you're a free world user, you can still view the forums, but you can't post. Anyways, go to the forums and look for someone buying for 10 gp each. This way, whenever you sell, you can go back to the chickens north of Lumbridge and take advantage of the noobies. Simply say "White:wave: buying all feathers 5 gp each!" and to free world users that seems like a very good deal. Buy maybe 10k of feathers, and then do the same process again. Do this over and over until you have over 300k gp. This will ensure that you will have enough money to do the next step on how to make it in RuneScape. Now you are probably level 10 from killing all of those chickens, but you have over 100k hopefully. Use that 100k to buy range, mage, or melee equipment, depending on what you want to be, and head on over to the cows. Go south a little bit from the chickens and you should be there. There are over 100 of them so it shouldn't be too hard to miss.
Now then, kill the cows, and pick up the hides. Pick up over 100 - 1000 of them if you want some really good money! Selling cowhides is usually pretty easy. Go to the forums. And search for someone who is buying for 100 - 200 gp each. Add them onto your friends list, and usually when someone is buying stuff on forums their chat is set to on, so they should be logged on. If not, search again and add a different person to your friends list. If they aren't logged on then just keep adding people… Eventually you will have your money, and you should be level 20 - 30. Also remember, if you are using melee, alternate between attack options. Don't only train attack or strength or defense. Unless you want to be a pure, otherwise, get 10 attack first, then get 10 strength, then get 10 defense and so on.Ok, so far you probably have about 100 - 300k. That is awesome! Most level 20's - 30's only have around 10k, so you're a rich little person now. Now lets just waste some money by getting some skills. First I want to tell you how to train magic. And one thing I have to say is, do not, no matter what, use the best attack you can use to train, use a lower level skill that is cheaper but hits good. A perfect example is, once you get 13 magic, fire strike. This spell is relatively cheap (if you use a fire staff) and it hits pretty good, usually around 6 - 8.Also, do not waste time going to Audbury, or however his name is spelled. Runes there take too long to buy if you want to make your account a high level and fast. Go to forums at www.runescape.comand go to the Market Section and choose Runes. Once there, you should see a lot of people selling and buying air, mind, and fire runes. There's a good reason for this. Fire strike. But since you probably only have level 1 magic, just buy 100 air runes and 100 mind runes, or go to the Varrock staff shop and buy an air staff for 1500 - 1600 gp. Magic staffs (air, fire, water, and earth) enable you to have unlimited of that rune, but you have to wield it for it to work otherwise it will do nothing. And buy 1000 mind runes. Why so many, because mind runes come in handy through Magic levels 1 - 20. Now use those 1000 air casts, don't worry about getting more runes until you have finished off your first batch of runes.Once you get your magic level to 13, go to forums again at www.runescape.com and get, maybe 1000 - 5000 fire runes! Fire runes vary from 15 - 20 gp each, so we're talking about spending 15,000 - 100,000 gp. If you happen to not have enough, I would recommend getting money the fast way and going to the chickens again and merchant the feathers.Once you get all of your runes, and staffs and whatever, go to Varrock sewers and take the west route. This goes to a diversion between you, and level 24 zombies. The zombies cannot get to you, because between you and them, there is a stream that for some reason they cannot cross. Look at the map below if you don't know how to get to Varrock or the sewers. This picture is pretty detailed. You should be able to find out where Varrock is… If it doesn't work, just go north from the chickens, and eventually you are there. Once you find a big fountain, go a little north from there until you find a red exclamation mark. The red exclamation mark indicates sewers or caves, or anything else that goes underground. There should be a manhole around where the red exclamation mark on your map is. Open it and go down into the manhole. There will be 3 ways to go once you get down there. 1 being on the far right and one being on the far left. Go to the 2nd one on the right. Keep going until you find out that you can't go any further, and you should see zombies. Then just auto-cast fire strike on them until you are out of runes.
Once you get somewhere around 25 - 30 mage, go buy a bunch of chaos runes, and use your air staff… Go to the same place where the zombies are, and use all of the chaos runes on them until you have probably around 40 mage. Now stop using mage for a little bit and now lets go onto range.Using range can be a bit hard at first but it gets easier the higher your level, and it's well worth it. Range, if at a high enough level, can kill mages in wild without question, and if you are a pure, it "owns" meleers. So train this pretty high, it's a skill you will enjoy once you get it to about 50. It's mostly a skill you use to fight high-level monsters from behind fences and Pking.Ok, so now, if you want to train range. Go to Varrock again until you get to the range shop. Once there, buy a bow, or use the one from Tutorial Island, and use your money to buy about 1000 bronze arrows. Heed my warning, range is a very slow skill at first, because all you hit is 1, and that's rare. If you want to speed it up, go fight chickens. Since they are the easiest to kill, and you can fight them until probably level 10 range. Once you get level 10 range, go and buy all the new equipment you can wield at the Varrock range store, and go to the cows. Now you can hit, probably 2 or 3, depending on the arrows you are using, so cows are a better choice. Unless you wish to continue fighting chickens, but I would not recommend fighting chickens past level 20 range since you would be wasting arrows that you could be hitting 4 - 5's with. Now fight cows until you are around 25 - 30 range. Go back to Varrock range store, and buy the items you can now wear with the money you have. This shouldn't cost you much money, and you have probably ran out of arrows, so I would also recommend buying 1000 bronze or iron arrows. Also, in range, BUY A SHORTBOW, unless you want to fight from a very long distance. Short bows are 2x faster, and they hit the same. Sometimes a long bow might hit 1 higher, but usually not.Once you are done killing cows, and have 35 range, I would recommend going to the hill giants, but since you've probably never been to where I go (the best place) you are going to take the long way, but just this one time.Go to Edgeville which is kind of North West of Varrock. An easy way of getting there is by going to Varrock and going west until you get to Barbarian Village. Once in Barbarian Village just go north until you hit a bank. Once at the bank go south a little bit until you are in what seems like an abandoned building's ruins, which has Yew Trees in it. Now go down into the trap door where the exclamation mark is on the map.Once down in the trap door, take the route going north, and you will eventually get to a place where a message pops up saying "Warning!" but don't worry, the wild is beyond a members gate, so if you're a free world user there's no reason to be scared… Anyways, turn run on, and run past the zombies in a little maze like area. After you get past the Zombies there will be Hob Goblins varying from level 26 to 46 I think. Run past them, and you will be at more zombies. Go to where you see the zombies, don't go to the hill giants yet, and then get the key you see on the ground. This way, if you are going to die or something you can go up the ladder and get out of the door.
Now head on to the Hill Giants, and make sure you don't stay there if you get below 10 hp because they can hit 4. And if your hit points get below 10 run up the ladder like I said earlier. Now train on them for a while, this will help you do the next step. How to train prayer is pretty easy when you're a low level at the hill giants, since they drop "Big Bones" which give a lot more experience than regular bones, and if you don't want prayer levels and plan on being a pure, pick them up anyways and sell them in world 1 for 200 gp. Stay there for a while and keep picking up bones whether or not you are burying them. If you are burying them, stay there until you have a level you are happy with. If you are selling them, I recommend getting 100 - 1000. If you get some random number, it is harder to sell because either you don't have enough or people don't like doing math. Please read Part 2!
